How long do governors serve for?

About me

Having served as a parent governor from 2015-2018, I was keen to stay on the governing body once my children had both moved into grammar school. As a member of the Pendock community with an enthusiasm for education, sport and EDI (Equality, Diversity & Inclusion), I help to provide governance around the whole curriculum, with the aim of ensuring the children who attend Pendock receive a rounded and broad-based education, setting them up as confident individuals ready for their next educational setting.  I took the role of chair over from Paul Massey this academic year and I am finding my feet with help and support from Paul and the rest of the governing body and staff!

My two children both went to Pendock from Reception to Year 6, and I’ve stayed on the governing body now that they are both at grammar school. In my day job, I am co-founder and managing director of a cybersecurity business, and my voluntary activities include mentoring through the Cranfield Trust and being a member of the (Glos) county council’s School Appeals Panel.

About me

I feel privileged to be part of the Pendock community, having joined the Governing Board in February 2023.

Before retiring, I was an English and SEN teacher in primary schools and my passion for literacy in all its forms remains as strong as ever. I love playing different sports, being outdoors and learning about the environment, so it is wonderful to be part of a school that believes in the many benefits to be gained from such activities. My experience and understanding of school life will help me to support and further develop this thriving school as it continues to provide a high-quality education for every child.
